Mashpee Public Library

Mashpee, MA

Architect: Johnson-Roberts Associates

Tucker Library Interiors and the Worden Company were selected to provide the custom maple furnishings, display furniture, and the custom shelving millwork package. MJ Industries WF-1000 book shelving and Escalook display shelving were specified by the architect. The display pieces, in particular, remind one of a retail bookstore design with ease of browsing new arrivals a clear priority. Custom end of range display shelving also contributes to that overarching goal. Custom shelving end panels were designed with a small square opening for custom signage. The trestle style table design makes for a substantial table, capable of supporting computer users with ease. For the Young Adult Room the architect selected Worden’s “Stance” tables, for their unique leg design and divider panel. This selection clearly communicates that “this room is different” in support of the effort to attract, and retain, the teen demographic underway in most libraries.
