Georgetown Peabody Library

Georgetown, MA

When the Georgetown Library was planning their expansion we worked closely with the Director to design a shelving and furniture package that was in keeping with the historic interior of the original building, while still complimenting the new addition. We provided MJ Industries WF-1000 shelving specifically tailored in consultation with the Director. We also designed and provided a custom furniture package that included two service desks, reading tables, custom end panels and computer workstations. The shelving end panels were designed to match the existing steel end panels in the historic wing. In the Children’s Room we provided mobile shelving to allow flexibility for programming. The shelving end panels were designed with a laminate insert of tree trunks, which the Director selected from our extensive custom menu. That inset design was carried throughout the Children’s Room, including the computer workstation end panels. We also provided small-scale lounge seating for the Periodical area in the historic building. Chip Hagy did a fantastic job on this project. Just ask him about it!
